SpringOS lets you collect invoice payments two ways: paste any payment link (Venmo, PayPal, an existing Stripe Payment Link, etc.) or connect your own Stripe account for secure checkout on every invoice. Both options live in Settings → Invoices.
Connecting Stripe is optional. If you already have a workflow that works, keep your manual link. When you want customers to pay by card, Apple Pay, Google Pay, or tap-to-pay on their phone, Stripe Connect is the better path.
Benefits of using Stripe with SpringOS
- Customers pay from the invoice email with one click—no copying account numbers
- Apple Pay, Google Pay, and saved cards speed up checkout on mobile
- Payments mark invoices paid automatically in your CRM
- Funds go to your Stripe account; SpringOS does not take a cut of job payments
- Stripe handles PCI compliance and fraud tools on hosted checkout
- Express dashboard for payouts, disputes, and tax reporting
Manual payment link vs Stripe
Manual mode is best when you collect checks, Zelle, Venmo, or cash on site. Add a payment URL and instructions in Settings → Invoices and they appear on every invoice email.
Stripe mode generates a unique checkout link per invoice when you email it. Enable “Use Stripe for invoice payments” after connecting your account. Your manual link stays as a fallback if Stripe is unavailable.
How to connect Stripe in SpringOS
- Log in as the business owner and open Settings → Invoices
- Click Connect Stripe account and complete Stripe Express onboarding
- Return to SpringOS and click Refresh status until charges are enabled
- Check Use Stripe for invoice payments and save
- Email a test invoice to yourself and complete a small test payment
What your customers see
Invoice emails include a Pay invoice online button when Stripe is active. Customers land on a Stripe-hosted checkout page branded with your business name and invoice details. After payment, the invoice status updates to paid in your SpringOS dashboard.
Tap to pay and in-person payments
Mobile customers often pay with Apple Pay or Google Pay through the same Stripe checkout link—no extra setup required. For in-person tap-to-pay with a physical card reader, use the Stripe Dashboard mobile app and Stripe Terminal. SpringOS focuses on invoice checkout links; Terminal pairs well when you also collect payment on the job site.
Troubleshooting
- Stripe setup incomplete: open Continue Stripe setup from invoice settings
- Payment link missing from email: confirm Use Stripe is enabled and charges are active
- Invoice not marking paid: ensure Stripe webhooks include checkout.session.completed for Connect
